Visual Fault Locator ( Remote Unit Style - VFL1 )

This VFL1 injects 650nm visible laser light into the fiber. The red laser light scatters when the light encounters a break or sharp bend for both single mode and multi mode fibers. It can test bundled cables and breaks or bends in patch cords, pigtails, bare fibers, etc. which the OTDR cannot detect during their operation dead zone. Visual Fault Locator ( Pen Style - VFL2)

This Universal Visual Fault Locator is streamline pencil styled that features a universal connector accepting any optical connector style with a 2.5mm ferrule and 1.25mm ferrule. The output is from a 650nm laser diode providing visibility to 6 Km ideally for both singlemode and multimode patchcord/cable plant inspection. Breaks, bad splices, tight crimps, faulty splice and bad connection can be identified by means of visible red laser emitting from the VFL.

Universal Visual Fault Locator

Two AAA size batteries (both Alkaline or rechargeable batteries) are used to keep the size and weight down. Low battery indicator is implemented to alert user when the battery capacity is low.

This VFL can be used to locate faults in patchcord with variety of connector types in both 2.5mm (such as FC, SC and ST) and 1.25mm (such as LC and MU) ferrule diameter.
